McKean Defense Awarded Recompete to Support NSWC Carderock

(Philadelphia, PA) – McKean Defense Group, LLC announced today it won the second recompete of an unrestricted task order for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) in support of the Ship Integrity and Performance Organization. This single award cost-plus-incentive-fee performance based task order has a one year base term with four one-year option periods, worth a total of over $41 million if all options are exercised. McKean Defense has held this contract since 2007.

NSWCCD Department 60 is the Carderock Division’s Survivability, Structures and Materials Department, recognized as a leader in full-spectrum science and engineering of materials and structures, environmental compliance, and survivability of naval ships and submarines. McKean Defense and its teammates will provide engineering and technical support in a range of technical areas such as Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE), metallurgy, corrosion and coatings, electromagnetic interference and radiological device testing, wastewater in-service engineering, and structural evaluation, among others.

Tasking includes integration with Fleet activities in related technical areas, as well as communications, branding and graphics support across the Code 60 division. The new award also incorporates expanded Information Technology/Information Assurance support.

McKean’s teaming partners include large engineering and programmatic companies as well as specialized vendors. The work will be done in Philadelphia, PA, and Bethesda, MD.
