With credentials and certifications in the Novell, Cisco, Linux, Unix and Microsoft operating systems, and IA certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (“CISSP”), Security+ and Network+, McKean Defense helps clients secure their systems and networks and prepare the associated documentation for certification and accreditation.

Supporting Cyber Security Certification and Accreditation

The Naval Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has hundreds of systems that require certification monitoring and Cyber Security maintenance. With growing threats of cyber breaches, meeting requirements for certified secure systems demands expert planning and execution. NSWCCD turned to McKean Defense for support in achieving an immediate need for Certification and Accreditation (C&A) tiger teams. Within 30 days, we provided 28 cleared and certified Information Assurance professionals to provide scan and remediation support as the pre-certification activity for their numerous diverse systems. We continue to work side by side with C&A teams providing support and data to secure additional certifications.

Embedding Cyber Security into IT Infrastructures

Implementing Cyber Security and mitigating vulnerabilities requires careful threat assessment and expert execution — particularly when there is risk of losing Confidentiality, Availability, or Integrity (CAI). McKean Defense transfers its engineering and information technology expertise to a Cyber Security framework to design solutions that protect, detect, characterize, counter, and mitigate unauthorized activity and vulnerabilities on our customers' networks. Our Cyber Security solutions identify internal and external threats and develop controls and countermeasures to protect IT infrastructure and engineering systems. We are reducing the number of CAT I and CAT II vulnerabilities from triple digits down to almost zero.
